Once logged into your Aruna email or Zimbra mail, you can find the Aruna Send Zimlet on the left hand side of your screen under “Zimlets” section

Click on Aruna Send to open the dialogue window.

Enter the email address of the recipient, enter your email address and then click “browse” to find the file that you want to send (100MB max currently).
When you are finished click Send.
You will then see the progress meter for your file upload.

When it is finished you will be given a link to your file. You can copy and paste this link anywhere and have access to your file.

Your recipient will also be sent an email with the link. We are currently in public beta and they will have 7 days to collect the file. After 7 days it will be automatically deleted from the server.
If you want to send another file, just click “Send Another”
Of course you can also use Aruna Send from the web or from the Aruna Yahoo widget on your desktop. Whichever way you choose, you can send files for free.

When you log into your Aruna Email, you will notice a couple of new services in the Zimlets section. In this post we will go over how to use Aruna URL.
Aruna URL is a simple but handy service that lets you turn an unmanageable or long web link (or URL) into a short link / URL. Here is how it works:
1. Click on the ArunaURL icon

2. Enter the long URL that you want to make short and click “Make It”

3. Your new short URL is displayed. You can now select and copy this link and use it anywhere you please. The new short link will go to the original link that you converted.

That’s it. You can use Aruna URL as much as you want. It is free.
You can also “right click” on the Aruna URL icon to get the About dialogue.

Of course you can always use Aruna URL from the website as well. It is also free and available at www.arunaurl.com.

On the back of our release of the Aruna Send Widget for Yahoo Widgets, we are glad today to spread our wings a little further. In order to enable our other services to be more closely integrated with Aruna email, we have developed two plug-ins (Zimlets) that will allow customers to use the following services directly from Aruna email in their browser.
1. Aruna Send Zimlet – Will allow users to send large files directly from their webmail in their browser. It is free, there is no sign up and it will allow you to send up to 100MB files.

2. Aruna URL Zimlet – You can convert long and unwieldy web links (URLs) into short easy URLs from the Zimlet or directly inside of emails by right clicking on any link.

We are also releasing the Zimlets to the community of 6 million other Zimbra users. The services that the Zimlets offer will be free and there will be no charge for the Zimlets themselves. Zimbra uses must contact their Zimbra email server administrator and ask them to install the Zimlets.
We are currently getting the project page and documentation ready. In the meantime, both Aruna Send and Aruna URL Zimlets are available for download immediately below.
We have also set up a forum where the community can make suggestions, report bugs and discuss the Zimlets. We will post the address to that very soon as well.

Note: Both Zimlets are still considered beta software. We have tested them, they are working and we have not found any major bugs on our ZCS environments. You should also test them in your configuration before deciding whether to enable them in your live production environment.
